Sweden's National Day

Swedes celebrate their National Day (Sveriges nationaldag) on 6 June in honour of two historical events. On 6 June 1523, Gustav Vasa was elected king, and on the same date in 1809, the country adopted a new constitution. Not known for displaying their national pride, this day offers a rare chance to see Swedes waving their flag about (source).

I am not there yet but i follow these celebrations and traditions closely so i can enjoy them next year when i will be there, ready to take photos and have fun! In this short post i will only show you some nice photos i found searching for it's origins!

Everything is painted with yellow and blue! Flags waving everywhere!

I am so going to wave a flag come next year!
You can also throw balloons if you feel like it!
